United Methodist Women November 2017

November 2nd, 2017 by Kali Lewis

For those of you who love a mystery, our United Methodist Women’s group has two.

First of all, we would like to know who turned in a completed Reading Program list but forgot to sign her name. This unknown reader is entitled to a reading certificate but we cannot award hers until we know who she is. If this person is you, please contact Mary Prater ASAP. Reading certificates will be awarded at the UMW Sunday worship service.

The second mystery is – What happened to a new book recently purchased for our reading program Library? The book is entitled Faith Ed. It was purchased with a generous donation from Alice Lord. If you know the whereabouts of this book, contact Mary Prater.

While we’re on the subject of the reading program, please remember to sign out your books in the notebook provided. This will eliminate the problem of looking for missing books.

Out next UMW General meeting will be Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 1 PM in Fellowship Hall of the church. The program will be our annual Thank Offering. We have so much for which to give thanks. Hope to see you there.

The annual UMW Sunday has been set for Nov. 12. This service will be conducted entirely by our church women. The featured speaker will be the new Camp Michigamme director, Erica Thomas. Our surprise   Mission of the Year worker will also be announced.

Our annual Christmas Tea will be Saturday, Dec. 2, from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. The theme is “Snowflakes” and featured will be the popular Cookie Walk. There will also be a gourmet table of yummy kitchen goodies for sale provided by our excellent UMW cooks. Proceeds from the sales will benefit local charities. The Christmas Tea is open to the community, so be sure to invite your friends.
