The time is quickly approaching for our annual summer UMW luncheon meeting. The date will be Wednesday, Aug.3. The speaker has yet to be confirmed but we plan to have a Garden Party luncheon and we encourage you to wear your favorite party hat. Some of us are even being creative and are designing unique hats to wear.

Traditionally, the members of other area UMW units are invited to attend and usually a large number of these women attend the festivities. This is a good opportunity to meet and fellowship with our sisters in the faith. We hope you are able to attend.

The next regular UMW meeting at Manistique FUMC is Tuesday, June 7. We meet at 1 PM in the Fellowship Hall for a brief program and business meeting followed by a yummy dessert. Norma Johnson will present the program this month. Meetings are open to all interested church women. There will be no UMW meeting in July.

We continue to conduct our monthly Hymn Sings at the Medical Care Facility. We meet the first Monday of the month at 10 AM to present a half hour of song and meditation for the residents. All interested, men as well as women, are encourage to participate. Because Independence Day (July 4) is on the first Monday of the month, there will be no Hymn Sing next month. For more information, see Phyllis Burge.

If you are looking for something to do during the summer months, there is still time to join in on the UMW Reading Program. See Mary Prater for more information.
